DRAMA Last December the Drama class at Clay-Battelle High School gave their first play. It was entitled “Christmas Comes to Detroit Louie.” The play takes place in the waiting room of a doctor’s office the day before Christmas. With the help of two angels the play had a hint of comedy mixed with entertaining sincerity. The play was directed by Mrs. Fox, the drama teacher, at CBHS. Mrs. Fox says there may be more performances from the drama class in the years to come. Andy, the doctor, checks Jami. the blind girl’s eyes. The two nonbelievers see if the doctor can help her. Jodi is an angel from heaven. A young pregnant lady, the young hypochondriac lady, and the two non-believers are waiting to see the doctor on Christmas. 26 Drama

in New Ways Art Makes Students Think Arl is jusl about the most important thing in our lives! Art makes our world more interesting, but more importantly it makes us think in new and different directions when we produce it. Can you think of anything that is not affected by art in some way? Clay-Battelle art students enjoy having a chance to produce a work of beauty or sometimes very unusual visual experiences. They very often remember their experiences in art class and treasure the art work they produced all their lives. Kim Eddy used a picture from home for this watercolor. This carving in zonolite was completed by Crisly Riggs. Richard McCoy worked on his paper mache mask in fourth period arl This acrylic was painted by Kim Eddy.
