Art makes our world more interesting, but more importantly it makes us think in new and different directions when we produce it. Can you think of anything that is not affected by art in some way? Clay-Battelle art students enjoy having a chance to produce a work of beauty or sometimes very unusual visual experiences. They very often remember their experiences in art class and treasure the art work they produced all their lives. Kim Eddy used a picture from home for this watercolor. This carving in zonolite was completed by Crisly Riggs. Richard McCoy worked on his paper mache mask in fourth period arl This acrylic was painted by Kim Eddy. Art Students Paint Watercolor and Acrylic Duane Tate carves plaster with makeshift tools. Lisa Tennant used tissue paper in her collage. This watercolor was painted by Nikki Gilblorn. Shawnda Dalton and other 8th graders made paper mache masks. Kim Eddy painted excellent watercolors like this still life. They didn't like the taste of defeat and so they went on a winning streak and won the Mason-Dixon Conference title. Lisa Tennant, Traci Stewart and Chris Stitchick were named to the All-Mason-Dixon First Team. Marlene Ammons received Honorable mention. The girls then won the Sectional tournament, beating Hundred and Valley. Traci Stewart. Lisa Tennant and Marlene Ammons were named to the All-Toumament-Team. The girls lost regionals by one point in the overtime game with Wcirton Madonna. When it was all over a loyal fan and friend summed up the season with these words: A WINNER! I watched you laugh with a victory, I watched you cry at a loss. And then I began to wonder why sometimes we pay the cost. For you see if we went through our life. And we never felt any pain. Then a victory wouldn't mean as much Or tin surge of power the same. You gave every ounce of strength you had. You couldn't have given it more And as a mighty Eagle flies You spread your wings to soar. You excelled far beyond ones means. You were backed every inch of the way You're from good ole Clay-Baltelle High School And that's why we’d like to say. We're proud to stand here with you And say you have been loved from the start. For when you have given your very best It is a far greater victory to the heart. By: Peg Clovis This poem was dedicated to the 1986 Girls Basketball Team. The season was exciting and the crowds got larger and louder game after game. From beginning to end. the team played hard and the crowd cheered.
