The art students participated in the art exhibit in the county office, an exhibit of student artwork held at MAC and finally the annual Spring art exhibit held at the Mountainlair, WVU campus. n . Tracy Ammons ihoughl that a watercolor of Mr. and Mrs. Applehead would be fun while Joey Wilkinson also used watercolors lo capture a quiet relaxed mood. Although the Cee- Bees ended the season with a 4-6 record, there were some positive moments to remember. Such as the 47-0 victory over Hundred, and the exciting games with East Preston and St. Francis. When Coach Browning was asked his over all view of the season, he slated, “Even in our loses we were never beaten badly, they were always close and we had chances to win.“ He said he enjoyed working with the team and that the 18 graduating seniors will be missed. The Class of '87 decided to do something different this year in order to raise money for the Junior-Senior Prom. So on November 23, they put on a dance, ‘ho down' style! Everyone who attended was supposed to wear their old. faded blue jeans, flannel shirts, and straw hats. The “main event” of the evening came when everyone lined up for the chase. The object was for the girls to catch the guy of her choice before anybody else did. In order for her to catch him she had to get past certain obstacles that were set up throughout the gym. Everyone who attended agreed, this definitely was a dance they would never forget! Trina says, “Wait gals until I figure out which is the right end!' O.K. girls concentrate carefully, and lake your pick. During the chase, Mary Ellen patiently waits for the girls to come to her station. David practices to be a future Mr. Mom. 123 Student Council Builds Morale The student council officers attended the state student council conference and also the student exchange programs. During the week of April 9, 1986, the student council sponsored a blood drive and collected forty-six pints. Student council students were auctioned off to collect money for the curtain fund. April 21-25 the student council sponsored a series of activities designed to improve students morale after the long winter months. This week included: the slave sale, free information to junior high student council, student-teacher day, silent day and the sock hop. From that point on, the class decided on the band (Hot Ice), color of decorations, invitations and favors. Former sponsor, Mrs. Gallagher, had already made the reservations at Mountainlair. Overall, because of the organization, preparations went very smoothly and before we . knew it, the prom was here. r Decorating was simply a matter of setting up the tables of Mountainlair and putting together the gazebo built under the supervision of Rusty Beach. At the prom 135 students and guests filled up the ballroom. The band performed a wide variety of selections and while the line for pictures was long most of the time, many others danced and socialized. The queen was determined by selecting a pink rose ) and her court was made up of two girls who selected 4 yellow and white roses. The other candidates had silver roses. Queen was Tammy Gallatin and Cristy Riggs and Tabatha Tennant made up her court. Tammy was v crowned by Tammy Wright, prom queen last year.
