Seniors RICKY RAY SHRIVER Ricky was an outstanding FFA member who won the Green Hand Award, Chapter Farmer Award, and the Home Improvement Award. Rick, also a member of the Chess Club, liked hunting and talking on his CB Radio. After graduation he planned to look for a good job that would make him lots of money. DOUGLAS FRANKLIN SMERDELL Doug, one of our class most outstanding athletes, shined in every sport CBHS had to offer. He lettered in basketball three years, where he won All Mason-Dixon and All Tournament Team honors and in football, where he was named to the All County and All Mason-Dixon Teams also. Doug played baseball for two years and ran track for four, enabling him to participate in two State Track Meets. If this wasn’t enough, he spent his spare time golfing and lifting weights. Doug was a Student Council. Thespian and Environmental Club member as well. He was undecided as to whether he would go to college or to work after graduation. VICKI LYNNE SNYDER Vicki was eager to attend WVU where she planned to study accounting. During her years at CBHS, she was a member of the National Honor Society for six years, FHA for four years, as well as Spanish Club, Environmental Club, HU, Thespians and Math Club. She was a member of the 1976 Girls’ Track Team and liked running around, riding motorcycles, swimming, and dating a guy from Mt. Morris. STEVEN MICHAEL STILES Blond-haired and friendly describes Steve who represented his class at Boys’ State and served as treasurer his junior year. Steve played football, track, and baseball and participated in Hearts Unlimited and Student Council. In his spare time, Steve enjoyed hunting, motorcycle riding, fishing and golfing. His future plans were to further his education. SUSAN JOLEEN STROSNIDER joleen reigned as queen of the Sweethearts Ball her senior year and ran for Homecoming, Shamrock, and Prom Queens as an underclassman. Ioey” was in FHA, Thespians, HU, Pep Club, and Spanish Club and on the track team two years. She liked making rugs, listening to music, dancing, and getting into trouble, joleen was optimistic; she planned to get a job and marry a millionaire. He won the Green Hand Degree, State Green Hand Degree, and Chapter Farmer Award. Working with animals and hunting were this out-doorsman's hobbies. Seniors DAVID KEITH RUSH Friendly and well-liked, Rushy ' spent his mornings learning mine maintenance at the Vo-Tech Center. Hunting and fishing were favorite pastimes for David and a job in the mines was in his immediate future. RUTH ELLEN ROUSH Ruth, one of the CB Majorettes, has participated in the band for six years and Pep Band for three years. She has served as Secretary of band, executive council member, and Banner Carrier. Ruth represented CBHS as 1976 Coal Queen Candidate and first-runner-up for Queen Autumn two years. Her other activities include FHA, HU. and National Honor Society in which she was both vice-president and treasurer. Ruth enjoyed listening to music and planned to work before marrying Rick. ROGER LYNN SEAMAN Rog, another senior Vo-Tech student, also participated in FFA activities. As for the future, Roger planned to continue working as well as fishing, hiking, hunting, and riding motorcycles, which were his hobbies. SHEILA KATHRYN SHEETS Sheila was an active senior who worked as an office, science, and guidance counselor aid during her senior year. She was a member of FHA, Hearts Unlimited, Yearbook Staff and Art Club. Sheila won honors for her art projects and had three of her exhibits displayed to the public. She was a member of the Junior High Honor Society as well as the Senior High. Sheila was a Junior High Cheerleader for two years, and in athletics, she holds two school track records, and was the girls basketball team manager. Besides her interest in an. Sheila enjoyed reading and collecting poetry. Her ambition in life was to be content, and to marry, and to always love Dave Chisler and her furry dog friends. JANET LEE TULLY SHAVER Janet was one of the first senior girls to change her name. While in school, Janet served as president of Student Council, treasurer of National Honor Society, and a member of FHA, Thespians. and Hearts Unlimited. Janet also held the positions of Yearbook Business Manager and office aid before graduating in January her senior year. In her spare time, Janet enjoyed playing tennis, painting ceramics, and playing with her dog, Buffy. To be a secretary and a good wife to Mark were Janet's future plans. MICHAEL ALLEN SHRJVER Mike could always be found in the halls at school teasing the girls. Tall and fast. Mike ran on the track team and played basketball. He belonged to Hearts Unlimited and Thespians. Motorcycling, swimming, hunting, and fishing were Mike's hobbies. He intended to get a job in the coal mines after graduation. 25
