Reta is a slender brunette from Daybrook. Among her pastimes are dancing, singing and talking. She was voted the most talkative senior girl. Reta is organization editor of the yearbook, and a very good ad salesman. WILLIAM BLACK Watching the World. Bill is a quiet boy from Brave with brown eyes and a slow, sparklinq smile. He was voted the most courteous boy in the senior class. Bill can usually be found minding his own business. FREDDIE L. BUTCHER How about a date? Fred is a tall curly-headed fellow with a laugh that makes you laugh. His best friend seems to be his car. although he has a lot of friends of the human-being type. DAVID CHISLER Hey, I just heard a joke . . Burly is from Daybrook. He doesn’t think homework is too important and would rather ignore it. Janie is a pert and pretty girl from Wadestown. She has brown hair and green eyes and was voted the most popular girl in the senior class. Janie can usually be found with Barb or Carolyn. OPAL BREWER I can’t believe it. Opal is a short girl with long brown hair, sparkling brown eyes, and a lovely smile. She's very dependable and is Cocirculation Editor of the yearbook. Opal and her pals are usually talking. CAROLYN SUE CONAWAY Reaching for a star. Conaway is a spicy redhead from Wans. She runs around with the Ponetown bunch. loves to dance, sing, and get into orneriness. Carolyn is a Thespian. Co-sports Editor of the yearbook. a cheerleader and most talented senior girl. DELBERT CORDER Wonder what he's thinking? Delbert is a tall, quiet guy from Miracle Run who is content to sit back and watch the world go by. He is another car-collector and takes a great interest in the timber business. BILL CORE Eccentric? Not he! Bill is known as an eccentric and enjoys his reputation. He is president of the F.F.A. and a member of the National Honor Society. He has piercing eyes and a mania for the history of the Civil War. JIM CORE Faint heart never won fair lady. Jim is from the Wodestown vicinity and is quiet and bashful until you get to know him. Dale is his best pal and keeps the damper on him or he'd have the entire school in hysterics. SUSAN JANE CORROTHERS The stars shine for her. Susan, who lives at Crossroads, has no trouble getting anyone's attention, because that bright red hair catches everyone’s eye. Susie is called upon for various tasks and she was voted the most dependable girl in the senior class. CAROLYN CROSS Beats there a heart so true. Carolyn is a five-foot-seven bundle of mischief from Africa. She belongs to Quill and Scroll. National Honor Society. Thespians. is Co-editor of the yearbook, and was voted the bestlooking girl. MICHAEL CUMBERLEDGE A smile that says a mouthful. Red is a witty Irishman from Shamrock. He was voted the most popular boy in the senior class. He played football this year. Denny is his best pal and their hobby is having fun. SUSAN CUMBERLEDGE A dream or two. Susie lives at Brave and hos brown hair and brown eyes. She was voted the friend.’iest girl in the senior class, which proves that her wonderful personality hasn't gone unnoticed. If you’re feeling blue, see Susie. U LOWELL DARLING Why worry? If doesn't pay. Pete is from Pentress. He’s a man’s man and his interests include hunting and fishing and exclude girls. He runs around with Jim McCord and the rest of that crowd and they have their share of fun. ELLEN MARIE EDDY Always true, never blue. Ellen is a toll brunette from Daybrook. She runs around with Linda and seems to be the quiet type. Maybe the reason she is so quiet is that Linda won’t give her a chance. LINDA LOU EDDY Needless to say. always gay. Linda, gay, talkative girl, has a laugh that is catching. She thrives on having a lot of fun and if she’s ever unhappy, nobody ever knows about it. Linda plans to be an airline hostess. SHEILA ARLEEN EDDY Looking through the window of her heart. Blonde, blue eyes, and so neat, describes this cute miss from Jakes Run. Seila con’t say much for studying, but she loves to dance. She was voted best all around senior girl. BETTY FORDYCE Good as gold. Betty lives at MacDale and is quiet and neat. She has blue eyes, dark brown hair, a friendly smile, and a nice personality. She does her part for the school by helping out in the cafeteria at noon. JACK GUMP Carefree—his motto. Duck, the most talkative senior boy came by that title honestly. He loves to ask questions and talk, and prefers to ignore homework. Jack is very friendly and everyone likes him. He belongs to the F.F.A. MARY JO ESTEL Why didn't someone tell me. Brown hair and blue eyes describes Mary Jo. She lives at St. Leo and can usually be found getting into some mischief with her pals from Wadestown. She enjoys reading and listening to hillbilly music. GEORGE FOLEY Be still and get out of my way. George lives at Daybrook. has green eyes and one of the neatest crops of black hair you ever saw. He has a friendly personality and is always smiling. George plans to work after graduation. JAMES HAYES The impulse to study puzzles him. Jim lives at Wadestown. He is fond of having fun and is also very good at thinking,up ways to make money for the senior class. Another of his hobbies is trying to pass English 12. CLYDE HOSTUTLER A right-hand man. Clyde lives on White Creek. He has light brown hair, blue eyes, and a very contagious grin. He never lets anyone down. That's why he was voted the most dependable boy in his class. DONALD JONES A quiet fellow, but his eyes sparkle. Don lives up Miracle Run and has black hair and brown eyes. He is somewhat shy and seldom has much to say. He is the outdoor type and enjoys hunting and fishing. JUNE JONES A few are like this. June lives at Core. She has dark brown hair, and a smile that is contagious. She was voted the girl most likely to succeed in the senior class. June’s wonderful personality is envied by all her friends. DONALD KENNEDY I've got nothing to say. Don is a quiet lad from up on the pike. He likes to run around with Dale Phillips, Clarence Park, and Jim Core. He is easy-going and was voted the quietest boy in his class. BILL KING One in a million. This handsome fellow lives at MacDalo and has dark brown curly hair and hazel brown eyes. He is more or less the ladies' man. Bill is the most talented boy in the senior class and likes to sing. CAROL WYNELLE KNIGHT Only one love. Golden blonde hair and baby blue eyes—that's this petite little lass from Wadestown. Wynelle's attractive personality has won her many friends. She insists upon being a West Virginia hillbilly. She was voted class-flirt. BETTY LEA LEM LEY It's all in the game. Betty has blonde hair, green eyes, and lives at Core. She is president and match-maker of the senior class. Betty plans to be a Medical Technologist and wants to travel all around the world someday. 16 CHARLES LEMLEY He'll slap you on the back. Charles lives of Blaclcsville and has brown hair and blue eyes. His main interest is Vo-Ag. Sometimes Charles gives the impression that he doesn't like work and his pastime in English is talking to Jack Gump. LEON LEMLEY What next, Bill? Leon comes from Wadestown bnd is very talkative. He keeps the teachers in a dither trying to decipher his writing. He can operate the movie projector, but for some odd reason wants no one to know it. MARY LEMLEY Shy—but who knows? Mary is a quiet little lady from Daybrook. She can usually be found sitting somewhere reading a book or thinking. About what? No one knows. Mary minds her own business and was voted the quietest senior girl. JIM McCORD Still water runs deep. Jim never has much to say but some say it's because he's shy. Sometimes he gets a mischievous look on his face and we wonder if he really is bashful or just wants people to think he is. VIRGINIA MERCER A silent heart speaks softly. Virginia lives at Wadestown. She is quiet but always does her share of any job. Her hobby is collecting things for her hope chest as she is wearing a diamond on her left hand. BARBARA JANE MICHAEL Through with heartaches. Barb is an attractive lass from Bula. She loves to dance, and play pranks on any innocent victim. Barbara is a member of Thespians and a sports fan. having been both junior and senior high cheerleader. JANICE LUCILLE MOORE We'll never forget her. Janice comes from Miracle Run and is always full of vim and vigor. She likes to laugh when Linda tells a joke, be it at noon or in Bhglish class. Janice likes to tell tall tales. NANCY LEA MOORE Curves ahead. She has curves where others don't even have places. Nancy is another one of the girls from Daybrook and was voted the most athletic girl in the senior class. Nancy is always gay and ready for fun. 17 LARRY MOORE Happy-go-lucky. Lorry is known around the hive for his friendly personality and sideburns. He loves to run around in his blue, souped-up Ford. Larry is from Daybrook. He's easy going and always has a smile for everyone. CLARENCE PARK Well, could be. Snuffy is usually seen with the Wadestown bunch ond probably has more nicknames than anyone else in the class. We wonder if he has earned all of them. He ploys football plus being the object of many pranks. DALE PHILLIPS Certain to succeed. It is rather hard to describe this studious fellow. He is a whiz at math ond the sciences. Dale has a wonderful sense of humor and was very appropriately named most likely to succeed. RICHARD PYLES Hey, there goes a woman! If there were a prize for cats, Richard would take top honors. He has that black leather jacket and motorcycle boots look. Richard spends a lot of time in Fairview looking after a Greene girl. DELORIS ANN ROSE Joy that breaks your heart. Deloris is a comely Pentress lass who represents our class as head majorette in the band. She is always very neat looking and was voted the best dressed girl in the senior class. GEORGE SAYERS Well, don't look at me like that. George is a tall dark fellow and was voted the best looking boy in our class. He lives near Blacksville, belongs to the F.F.A. and has been a member of the band for six years. 18 LARRY MIKE REESMAN What time is it? Mike was voted most witty in the senior class. He has artistic ability which he puts to good use in all boring classes. Mike is tall and very good-looking but likes to pretend he doesn't know it. LEON ROUSH With eyes that speak. Butch was voted class flirt and has upheld his reputation well in the past six years. He belongs to the F.F.A. Butch has lettered in football and baseball and likes cars. He is also president of the band. DONNY STEWART I fried to fell you . . Donny is one of the class clowns. Despite his weakness for having a general good time. Donny will work if there's a job to be done. He has been a member of -the band for six years. LEORA TENNANT Proof that love exists. Leora is a cute blonde with a smile that appeals to everyone. She is usually friendly, unless her temper is stirred up . . . which doesn’t happen too often. Her immediate goal is to graduate from high school. JUDITH ANN SHRIVER Good things come in small packages. Judy is the shortest person in our class. She is small and petite and gives the impression of being very quiet and innocent except to those who know her. She enjoys dancing to rock and roll. DENNY SNYDER Talk, dark, and I do believe he's handsome. Denny is the tallest boy in school and the most athletic in the senior class. He has lettered in basketball, football, and . baseball. Denny's trademarks are his height and his smile. CARL WALLS Enough of this nonsense, (ha ha) Sonny is from Core and in his better moments is a very serious-minded fellow, but if he starts telling jokes, look out! Sonny usually can be found with Bill, Clyde, or Glen, having a big time. CHARLOTTE WEBER Actions speak louder than words. Charlotte is from Core. She has long brown hair and a quiet little smile, and seems to be shy but it's very doubtful. Charlotte is neat and dependable and is always willing to work for the clast. WILBERT TENNANT Life was never better. Oats is a friendly blonde fellow from Jakes Run. He makes a joke of everything. Oats likes to run around, as most everyone does, but we can't help wondering if he has more fun than other people. RUBY ELLEN VARNER Forever and ever. Ruby likes to talk and participate in all sports. She always seems to be happy and is a member of the F.H.A. Ruby is a staunch supporter of the senior class and is always willing to work. 19 GLEN WHITE What a line! Glen was voted the best all-around. He plays basketball and football, was president of student council and Thespians, and belongs to the National Honor Society, and plans to study engineering. He likes to disturb 12a English. JAMES WHITE 'Til be there in a minute. James is from Blacksville, and is well known for his work in the band. He's the quiet type and concentrates on getting his homework done in class. James belongs to the F.F.A. and is the reporter for the band. SHIRLEY WHITE Efficiency in person. Shirley is quiet, but only when she's in class. She is a very capable girl and plans to continue her education after graduation. Shirley has been a member of the band for six years and belongs to the F.H.A. DOTTIE WILSON We love to hear her talk. Dottie. the wittiest girl in our class, is well known as an expert ad salesman and for going squirrel hunting. Dot's a blueeyed strawberry blonde from Daybrook and can usually be found with Reta. Colors Blue and White Flower White Carnation Moffo Nof at the top but climbing CHARLES WRIGHT JR. Good nature with red hair. Curly is a short fellow with a tall personality and red hair. He is a drummer in the band, lives at Pentress. and can be found running around with a crowd of boys who look deceivingly innocent. BOBBY YOST No, I'm not gonna do it. Bobby is from Jakes Run and is a serious boy who will do anything within reason for one of his friends. He's very quiet: you'd never be able to tell he's around by listening for him.
