Mixer Bigger and better mixers, was the promise of loe Mor- ledge in his campaign for president of the student body last year. Unlike most politicians, loe has kept his word and as a result, Classen is known all over the state as the school hav- ing the best mixers. Winners of the jitterbug contest, Kay Wolf and lack Tur- ley, upper right, look like they are ready for more, but who wouldn't be with the music of the Sooners, lower right, to dance to? All dressed up for the kid mixer, with their teddy bears to boot, are lohnny Spaan, Sara McArthur, limmie Crotts, Sue Breeding, and Bob Douglas, center. The marriage bureau, lower left, was one of the most popular parts of the Valentine Mixer sponsored by the Comes. loyce Hoyte has her turn as the line forms to the right. Selling home-made candy, Ruth drums up some business, lower center. Different organi- zations sponsor these affairs, each trying to make theirs the best. So far, they have all been big successes. 1 if f .x fc .W -xv N f 11 yy ff? if f ' i 2112 Aekbf' ,E -Am-w..s,g D 5,0

0 TSTANDING Leering at us from the top of the page, we find the results of the Father and Son Week. Rex Thomas was a janitor, while Gerald Lovell presided as Head Custodian, janitor also was Bob Brindley. On the second row beams Iohn Bentley, Principal, and T. H. Milby, School Board Representative. ln spite of the newness of the work they got good results. Busily at work in the Art room, creating some new masterpiece, we see the winners of the National Scholastic Contest. They are. left To right, Shirley Wright, Gene Nowell, Margaret Noel, Hallie lean Maidment and Torn Sorey. These are four of the fourteen who won the Achieve- ment Key Award in our first Regional Scholastic Competi- tion. This region was sponsored by the Iohn A. Brown Company. I Iucly Maguire is busy putting the finishing touches on the end table she made in her Woodwork class. At the bottom of the page is our famous debate team, with Pop Grady, their one and only coach. Beginning with the first row, left to right, Bill Dosier, Bob Fudge, lim Cagle. Second row, Robert Nuzum, Dan Dolan, Howard Friedman, and Mr. Grady.
