Due to the shortages caused by the war, the Life staff has not had the possibilities the ones in previous years have had. But this has not stopped them in the least. They have Worked faithfully throughout the year. One of the special editions they printed this year was the April Fool paper called the Classy Lie. lt was printed on different colored paper and it announced the April Fool King. She is a member of the lunior Auxiliary of the American Women's Volunteer Service. Next we find a patriotic group of students making their purchase of stamps and bonds from Ann Doyle and Sue Conner. The buying of stamps has played a big part in our weekly activities this year. During one month, SSl5,U56.65 of stamps and bonds were sold here. lane Richley, Shirley Brasil, and Lois Sudderth come smilinqly to the aid of our work-worn nurses. The uniforms are of green with white blouses. There are many other girls here at Classen who also do this helpful job at the various hospitals after school hours. Flying a real plane each Sunday afternoon has made Mary lane Buzbee interested in the models too. As a member of the Civil Air Patrol, she with several Classen students is learning to fly so that she may be prepared for the days after graduation.

ROBERT REID iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiio..iiiii Business Manager Getting a year book together in two months is no small job, but this year's staff was willing to stay till six o'clock nearly every night in order to keep up the standard set by past staffs. With Grace Ward acting as editor, it spent many hours of hard work taking pictures, drawing, and past- ing. The staff was ably assisted by Miss Lottie Conlan and Mrs. Virginia Chappelear. Having finished, all they need now is a few shoe cou- pons to make up for the leather worn down by trudging through the halls seeking bits of in- formation. The staff feels that its book should be some- thing that the students will want, not only for the present, to get their friends' autographs, and to see their pictures, but for the future, too, when they get to the point where they want to look back and remember these days.
