THE THIRD GRADE The third grade is one large class this year with forty-seven children and one teacher, Miss Coate. Our first big problem was to get used to such a large group and to crowd ourselves in one room. Our next big problem was to find time to study all the many books we are sup- posed to study in the third grade. We soon knew some studying had to be done. Our teacher says we have done fine with these problems. Some think that learning to write is very hard, but most of us are soon writing very good. We enjoy our music and leam many songs of a different nature. We like to leam poems and scripture. We begin to leam about the world and the many different people who live in it. We begin to see how much there is for a pupil to learn and enjoy.
