Teachers: Mrs. Q.W. Tucker and Mrs. E.V. Chapman THE FOURTH GRADE There are sixty-four pupils in the fourth grade. The students are very interested in Alabama his- tory. The course is enriched by library reading, daily newspapers, dramatization of history stories, making Alabama booklets, and field trips. Science is another subject everyone likes. Experiments and moving pictures in the classroom add much to the interest of the daily work. At all times, citizenship and sportsmanship are stressed in the school room, on the school grounds, and wherever they are. Mrs. Q.W. Tucker and Mrs E.V. THE THIRD GRADE The third grade is one large class this year with forty-seven children and one teacher, Miss Coate. Our first big problem was to get used to such a large group and to crowd ourselves in one room. Our next big problem was to find time to study all the many books we are sup- posed to study in the third grade. We soon knew some studying had to be done. Our teacher says we have done fine with these problems. Some think that learning to write is very hard, but most of us are soon writing very good. We enjoy our music and leam many songs of a different nature. We like to leam poems and scripture. We begin to leam about the world and the many different people who live in it. We begin to see how much there is for a pupil to learn and enjoy.
