J4arriet Cjray 1944-1981 The summer of 1981 brought o loss to Clark High School with the untimely death of Mrs. Harriet Gray. Her infectious enthusiasm, gentle humor, and positive outlook brightened the lives of hundreds of students os well os staff members during her fourteen years os a business teacher. Clark felt her presence in a variety of ways. Many classes benefited from her experience os on advisor, os did the Notional Honor Society. Even groups with whom she hod no official role colled on her for special help with projects. Oldtimers at Clark still chuckle over her scene-stealing performance in the 1969 faculty ploy, which provided scholarship funds for Clark seniors. During the 1970-71 school year she relinquished her preparation period to teach a class which otherwise would hove been canceled. Often the most significant contributions in human experience ore the small, usually unnoticed, doily acts of kindness. Mrs. Gray's life touched many with quiet words of encouragement and empathic understanding. She was o friend. Many lives ore richer because she was a port of Clark High School.
