Hard work pays off for Clark JV cagers The 1981-82 junior varsity basketball team hod a rough season. Most of the ployers came to try-outs inexperienced in mon-to-mon defense, ond many had never played competitive bosketboll. Because of their inexperience, they lacked the voluoble skill requirements of quickness ond passing. As the seoson progressed, these oreos were corrected through hord work ond desire. According to Heod Cooch Boy Berger, the team's hard work during the Christmos vacation enabled them to learn the system ond beot their toughest competitors — Gormon. Bononzo. and Volley. Although the team improved os o whole. Ezell Wiley, Ken Dumos, Jim Doy. ond Marvin Longford were named the most improved ployers. Cooch Berger felt that his players would benefit next year's varsity squad. He also sroted. The varsity squad will be in need of good ball handlers.
