Girls' tennis finishes with a one-loss record The CHS girls' rennis ream, with its many store victories, hos long been o dominoting force in high school rennis. After losing lost yeor's store tournament by o score of 13V5-14V5, the returning players pulled together to produce o winning team with o one-loss record. They fell short of retaining the zone title by losing o tough match to Volley. The majority of this yeor's team hove been ploying since their freshmon or sophomore years. Individual players carried on the Clork tradition of participating in both the zone ond store tournaments. The doubles reoms were the strong force this yeor ond placed well ot state. The ream of Beth Snovely ond Suson Frank led rhe Chargers to o zone victory over the top Volley team of Gino Espinosa ond Christi Gonzales. They also finished o close second ot store. The duo of Koren Goodoll ond Kathleen Deloney wos also o strong ream for rhe lody Chargers. They finished third in zone ond mode it to the semi-finols of store, where they finished in fourth place. Also contributing to this yeor's reom were senior Katie Scott ond juniors Susie Srrimling ond Cheryl Cohen. Sophomore Cindy Louer begon the seoson well; bur because of on injury, she hod to wirhdrow from team ploy.
