28 Dracula walks again as Clark thespians exhibit acting ability Tho Clark Drama Department presented Dracula. the world-famous vampire thriller, as the first production of the year on November 19. 20. and 22. Set in an old Victorian mansion, the play involves Dr. Seward, his fiancee Lucy, and their mysterious neighbor. Count Dracula. Lucy is suffering from a strange disease which concerns her aunt. Mrs. Harker. and matters are not helped by Renfield with his bizarre behavior. Dr. Seward summons the help of Professor Van Helsing and. under her questioning, the odd facts of Lucy's case begin to emerge. Once the professor meets the count, she suspects the horrible truth and sets out to destroy him. Special effects, including a smoke machine, and dramatic lighting provided atmosphere for the production. Adding a whimsical touch to the play was the melodramatic acting which heightened the suspense. ’Dracula'

Dating roles reverse; couples enjoy change with Sadie Hawkins The annual Sadie Hawkins dance, sponsored by the Senior Class Council, was held in November in the school cafeteria. Senior royalty were included this year with Matt Stromer as Lil Abner and Laura Fielden honored as Daisy Mae. In addition, the elected attendants were Sharon Kishner and Tim Bombard. Marloen Bostaph and Steve McCauley, and Debbie Addis and David Arredondo. The event came about from the popular comic strip Lil' Abner by Al Capp. According to the strip, female residents of Dogpatch can capture husbands on Sadie Hawkins Day. Therefore. Sadie Hawkins is a girls' reverse. A popular feature of the evening was the marriage booth with Mr. Ken Kucan playing Marryin' Sam. I. Royalty are Steve McCouley. Marleen Bostaph. Matt Stromer. Laura Fielden, Tim Bombard and Sharon Kishner. 2. Marryin' Sam Kucan” presents Henry Holland and Carolyn Canolla with their marriage certificates. 3. Observing othor couples, Dave Cardona and Catherine Cortox sharo a quiet moment. 4. During a slow dance. Randy Kantor and Sholly Webb show fond feelings. 5. Matt Stromor and Laura Fieldon are the first Lil' Abner and Daisy Mae. 30 Sadie Hawkins
