16 'Good Times' chosen for Homecoming '80 These are tho Good Times was the central theme of Homecoming '80. The different dress-up days featured costumes for Hawaiian. Punk Rock. Gangster. Little Kids, and the traditional Black and Gold Day. Activities held during both lunches included limbo contests, punk rock dances, root beer guzzling, cookie eating, and the annual Letterman's Jail, all adding pizzaz to an already extraordinary week. In class competition, the Senior Class won the award for the best hall decorations, while the Junior Class captured first place in both Volkswagen races and in the float competition. The assembly generated much enthusiasm, with Stephen George winning the title of Mr. Football, and Doug Farrar winning the Ugly Man title in a competition sponsored by the Spanish Club. After a hard-fought battle, the Chargers defeated Las Vegas High 21-12. Saturday night's dance, one of the largest ever, featured music by the Las Vegas International Sound Company. Couples entered the room by crossing a bridge under a rainbow, a final reminder that These Are the Good Times. I. With o display of flexibility.
