Competition included teams from the Clark County School District (Western and Eldorado) and also teams belonging to the Nevada Women's Gymnastics Association. Diligently training to perfect skills, the gymnasts began practicing during the summer months both at school and at private gymnasiums. Practice continued during classtime and also every day after school for two additional hours. For meet competitions, the girls were divided into various classes: Class One for advanced. Class Two for advanced intermediates. Class Three for intermediates, and Class Four for beginners. Displaying their skills in floor exercise, vault, uneven parallel bars, and balance beam competitions, the individual members were scored from I to 10. In order to raise the necessary funds for their meet expenses, the gymnastics team raised money by selling various items, as well as through their annual cartwheel-a-thon. 168 Gymnastics
