JV's learn discipline required in wrestling; record shows results The junior varsity wrestlers had a promising season. finishing as one of the top teams in the city. Our main objective throughout the season. said Head Coach Jim Massey, was to prepare the boys for varsity wrestling. Massey felt that this goal was reached. Like most junior varsity competitors, this team had a lack of experience. This meant teaching the basics and stressing discipline. Maintaining their wrestling weight posed some problems for most of the squad. This is a problem that all first year wrestlers encounter. said Massey. As the season wore on. the wrestlers became used to the fundamentals and discipline. and the performances showed this. Wrestlers who performed well all year long were Eric Staley. Nate Williams. Leo Rodriguez. Dwiqht Fuller. Frank Carlos, and Gary McAffee. Massey felt that these boys will make contributions to next year's varsity team. I.
