Goalie Paul Starcher was considered a league leader in saves, having been an All-Conference goalie for the past three years. Coach Dave Castro, in his first year on the job. commented. The combination of outstanding players anchored the team, making them perform exceptionally well in achieving their goals. Determination was a deciding factor for the kickers and teamwork provided the key to many victories. Growing and developing their momentum, the squad expertly displayed their soccer skills. Boys' bowling squad shows great effort Bowling season saw the Chargers finish in fourth place. Led by Jon Partell and Dave Jaffe. with averages of 196 and 165 respectively, the boys' team finished the season with an eight game winning streak. The rest of the team included Darryl Smith. 164: Ed Kachnik. 162: Craig Robinson, 158: Andy Cheda. 155: and Kris Schultz. 153. Wo came in fourth in our division, but did as well as expected because our division had the five strongest teams in the city. said Coach Chuck Stuart. One example of the team's strength was displayed against Gorman when the Chargers rolled a 2.985 series. The high game for an individual was held by Jon Partell with a 258. The over all team average was high with a I 78. Senior Jon Partell should be recognized as a super bowler: he was the top bowler in the city with his 196 average. commented Stuart. The JV team finished third. We had a young team that gained a lot of experience and they will fill some big shoes for us next year. said Stuart. He continued. Andy Cheda. David Kachnik. Brent Webb. Robert Fend, and Roy Graham will be next year's strength.
