JV's face struggle with tough competitors but maintain control The JV girls' basketball team had a tough season. Inexperience with the confusion of being coached with many previous coaching techniques and the relatively small size of the team seemed to create the main setbacks, according to Coach Raul Medrano, who served his first year in the position. Medrano praised the girls' willingness to learn and their improvement of basic skills. At the close of the season. he assessed their deficiencies as primarily in the areas of poor rebounding, poor team play, and poor free throw shooting. Jamie Bendorf. whose playing improved immensely throughout the season, was a big contributor to the team's effort. The mid-season arrival of Wanda Clark proved advantageous for the Charters.
