DECA accents work, provides experience for students' future Participating in such worthwhile activities as visiting the Charleston Convalescent Home, hosting Career Day or arranging monthly breakfast meetings soon became a necessity for becoming a DECA member. For the 1980-81 year there were 80 students comprising three DECA classes. Within the club itself, ten chapter officers were elected and were responsi--ble for organizing major activities. In November. 14 students from Clark along with two chaperones attended the DECA Western Regional in Colorado Springs. Colorado. Later in the year DECA hosted the annual Gong Show which featured a $99.99 first place prize and Mike McCoy from KLUC as the emcee. DECA also was privileged to have speakers from various businesses including the managor from Mer-vyn's and a representative from Toastmasters. Members enjoyed gaining practical training to be used in a variety of business situations in the future. DECA 111
