Skiers wait patiently for snow to arrive The drought, which affected the entire western part of the United States during the winter of 1980-81. brought disappointment to members of the ski club. Resorts, which usually were packed with skiers, could not even open full time, though some relied on man-made snow for limited operation. Therefore, club members eagerly watched weather reports in hope of snow. The group, which included both novice and expert skiers, planned trips to Park City. Utah, and other resorts. Heading the organization, traditionally one of Clark's largest, was President Paul Starcher. Mrs. LaRen Fleming and Mr. Bill Burthold advised the club.
