Varsity athletes host powder puff football, stage letterman's jail Lettering in at least one varsity sport is the requirement for membership in the Varsity Club. This year brought a change to the group: no longer did prospective members endure the day-long initiation complete with costumes and stunts. Male members dressed up as girl cheerleaders in the powder puff football game. The lettermen's jail, traditionally a Varsity Club project, was a main fund raiser for the group. Members also participated in the annual donkey basketball aame in February. Steve McCauley was president ot the group. I. Officers. Sitting: Elizabeth Makowski. Standing:George Kelly. Byron Hack. Bunn ies give support to Clark soccer team Throughout the year, the SoccerBunnies goal was to get more people involved in soccer, because most of the games showed very poor attendance. To accomplish this goal, the Soccer Bunnies held special projects to publicize soccer games like filling the halls of Clark with signs, encouraging people to go to the games, and putting messages on the marquee. All 48 members of the JV and Varsity Soccer Bunnies assumed many responsibilities throughout the year. These included keeping the game balls as well as recovering the balls during the games, cheering, supplying oranges and gum to the soccer players, and holding candy sales to support their activities. They were chosen at the beginning of the year through grades, past participation in school activities. and a final interview. Mrs. Karen Girard, who has advised Soccer Bunnies for the past six years, and Mrs. Sharon Weller both advised the Soccer Bunnies. Soccer Bunnies 99

Wres+lerettes provide support for matmen The 1980-81 Wrestlerettes. advised by Coach Duane Loesch. included 15 girls who contributed their time and effort in support of Clark's wrestlers. They helped with both JV and varsity teams. The girls were scorekeepers at homo matches, taking responsibility for both team and individual scores. In addition they were official timekeepers. Perhaps their greatest value to the team was their psychological support evidenced by their cheers. Various fund raisers were car washes, bake sales, and donut sales. The money they raised helped toward the purchase of uniforms and oranges for the wrestlers. The girls also attended all away tournaments the team had. The president of the Wrestlerettes was Anna Horner. on. Knooling: Debbie Hoff. Duane loesch (advisor). Joanne Kishner. Standing: Denise Wilson, Anna Horner. Esther Quisenberry.
