Cunningham, Mr. George J. Zdraley Mr. Albert Billy, vice-president. 56' and K, jrlwnl Qbmcfnfm, Financing and regulating the affairs of a school system is complicated in a city as large as Clairton. The members of the Clairton School Board, giving voluntarily of their time and ser- vices, work diligently to provide Clairton chil- dren with the best of educational facilities. lncreased maintenance costs, a growing school population, and a shortage of certified Mr H D Teal teachers, among other trying developments, have added greatly to the problems this school year has presented. Personal supervision and constructive in- spection, and more frequent meetings than in the past bear witness to the sincere effort the Board is making to keep education in Clairton at a high level. . .Q1j.m.,7.2LlL Superintendent of Schools A. B., Defiance College M. A., Ohio State University The year 1929 brought to Clairton as new Superintendent of Schools, a man educated in Ohio who had had administrative experience there as head of the Henry and the Stark County Schools. ln the twenty years Mr. H. D. Teal has since served the Clairton Schools, they have grown and prospered. During his term of office he has established himself as a leader among other school men of the region and has figured importantly in all community affairs. He is a member of the Clairton Chapter of Rotary International, and, always actively inter- ested in sports, is a low-scoring member of the Monongahela Valley Golf Club and is often the high-scoring member of the school Men's Bowl- ing League.
