This great nation of ours owes its existence and unparalleled progress chiefly to the fact that the youth of the country has always marched forth gallantly to meet every challenge facing it. whether such challenge was a call to the battlefield. to the farm. to industry, or to one of the thousands of other duties which mankind has always been called upon to perform. I should like at this time to take advantage of this characteristic of American youth by issuing a challenge to you-fthe students of Citronelle High School. Consequently . . . I Dare You I. To develop a character which will urge you to attain higher and higher plateaus so long as you shall dwell upon the face of the earth. II. To use your Cod-given ability to think creatively, to gear up your mind to capacity, and to share its strength with others, that they too may know the pathway to a better life. III. To go forth into the Countless paths of this chaotic world and fever- ishly work to establish the principles of Christianity in the hearts and minds of all peoples, in order that Mthe peace which passeth all understanding may enshroud the earth forever more. IV. To so live from day to day that when you finally grow weary and relinquish your hold on this mortal life, you shall be able to echo the words of the Apostle Paul - HI have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith - U. In conclusion, may your ambitions be many and worthy, and .may each of them be attained. P.-Xlfl. C. MORGAN ff f, 4 ?
