Board ol Eclucatnon MR CARL C LEIST Presldenl MRS HOWARD B MOORE Vlce Presndent MR VIRGIL M CRESS Clerk RAY W DAVIS J l SM MR ROBERT BREHMER 8 Our hats oFl to the Clrclevllle Board of Edu cation' Probably none of us reallzes the end less hours that these slx people and Mr Fischer have spent thlnktng and dlscusslng the future of Clrclevllles school children And needless to say they have tackled many tough problems but seemingly have always come out on top They truly rate our loudest praises In September, 1951 there were heard In the Caleb Atwater Elementery School the foot steps of the first students to learn their ABC s wlthln lts walls The new floors recelved a coat of dust that made them appear used Yes the new grade bulldlng IS no longer lust a blue pr nt lt IS a reallty In their plans for the future this group of cltlzens dld not neglect the older students those In hugh school Quite frequently now our classes are Interrupted by the sound of a ham mer or a rlvetlng machlne which reminds us of the new Industrial arts building to be occu pled In the fall of 1952 Several vacant lots on Mlll street suggest the construction of the gymnasium that wlll be started In the very near future As you can see our Board has not been wasting Its time or energy lt has done a truly remarkable lob In keeping our cupboards well supplied with up to date books and supplies And most of all Il has provided a staff of competent teachers most of whom have the sincerest Interest In their pupils This year the Board welcomes a new mem ber Mr Robert Brehmer, to replace Mr J O Eagleson who did not seek reelection Mr Eagleson, who has served on the Board for years, deserves sincere gratitude from all the student body He has contributed much to the field of education and certainly IS worthy of our most enthusiastic acclaim To carry out Its actlvltles eFHclentIy the Board appotnts chairmen for llS varlous committees They are Carl C Lelst president and chairman of teachers and salaries Mrs Howard B Moore vlce president and chairman of textbooks and apparatus, Mr Brehmer chairman of supplies Ray Davis, chairman of finance, James I Smith chairman of bulldlng and grounds, and Vlrgll M Cress, clerk The Board of Education members receive no salaries for their services but no doubt each member swells with pride when he hears of one of the schools pupils making good And for hlm that IS pay enough simply the loy of serving young people O . . , .
