Young team gains success The girls ten.nis team did well in competition this season. A young, but experienced team, worked hard and brought home seven medals. Five returning lettermen, along with a coach with lots of determination, make the future of the team look very promising. 1. Practice includes running lines for endurance. 2. G-lrls gain experience The 1977 Girls' Track Team gained experience for their young team this past year. The team had only five returning seniors, but their efforts helped produce a victory in their first meet of the season at Circle. The team brought home a total of nineteen medals from their six meets. The girls scored high in most of their meets to show great improvement over scores from past years. This young team shows promise for the coming season. 2. Kevin Chase comes in for hand- off in two-mile relay. 3. Seniors Kirk Brown, Steve Davis, Bryan Lee, Rusty Collins and Tim White Worked hard throughout the year. 4. Tim White shows good form While sailing over the cross bar. 5. Bryan Lee does his thing. 6. Wava Anderson leaps over the hurdles. 7. Seniors Karen Henry, Deb McCune, Kelly Dutton, Cindy King and Wava Anderson kept the team spirit high. 8. Coach Kerschner keeps Jayme Woodall, Stacey Shipley and joan Linot busy at practice.

Boys become stronger jkvss The 1977 boys' tennis team became stronger as they won forty- eight matches, which was four times as many as ever be- fore. The team brought home twenty-two medals and placed first or second in four of their seven meets. The team was led by Coach Ron Strong, senior Ben White- side and sophomore Steve King, who set a school record by win- ning sixteen matches in the number one singles division. The season was topped off by winning the Circle Invitational at El Dorado.
