Baseball Team Inexperiencedg Golf Has Triumphant Season Hey batter, batter. . . Fore. . . You're out. . .I made a hole in one. . . Strike him out. . , Do golf balls float?, , , The '76 baseball team con- sisted of 2 seniors, two juniors, 7 sophomores, and 5 freshmen. With this small number of ex- perienced players, the amount of experience was limited. For this reason, the team compiled a 3-15 record. After dusting off the ol' golf clubs, the golf team went into action. The 4-man team finished first in five of eight meets, and the 6- man team finished second in four. Boys capture 150 medalsg Girls qualify for regionals Loosen up. . . Push it. . . We're gonna get smoked. . . Get some good handoffs. . . Two laps around the track. . . Don't tell the man- agers not to tell me that you haven't been running. As spring began to blossom, the track teams began their sea- son. Through hard work and de- termination, the boys captured 150 medals and placed first in four meets. Randy Leimer set the league record in high jump at 6'2 . He also holds two school records in the 120 high hurdles at 14. 7 and in the 180 low hurdles at 19. 8. Both teams had new coaches. Gary Elliott and Ray Burford coached the boys to success and Ellen Blevins coached the girls. The girls participated in eight meets.
