l.QUlES Betty Allyn Lois Berryman iii Our own little homemakers are popping up out of nowhere, too. Mary Getto won first place in county style dress revue. Margaret Soares won first in clothing achievement. Anita Mussi placed first for her record books. Lois Corkill won state honors for her be-a-u-t-iful canning! She got to go to Chicago to the National 4-H Convention and what that gal didn't see, well we surely would have liked to have seen just half of it. She spent a night in the largest hotel in the world and it didn't even excite her! Carl Lemons is the only male yell leader in the school and he has a gay ol' time, believe us. Joe Bell and Jim Woods won state farmer degrees in agriculture this year. Mildred Prouty won the Lions Club speaking award. She really had a job but she did splendidly representing Churchill County. Junior Palmquest is one of the best men on the B squad basketball team. Why, without Junior, there probably wouldn't have been a B squad at all! Cyril Schank won S100 award for rural electrification work. Oh, the lucky girl who goes with Cyril! Now to get down to the more home folks. Lila Lou Baumann is president of F.H.A. and she got that honor because she is such a wonderful cook. Some lucky man! Mary Baxter Joe Bell Colleen Barton Lila Lou Baumann Colleen Conlan Rosalie Conner Jim Bright Elsie Bruner 'C' 4

'ls-1 it Frances Springer, vice president: Helen Rice, secretary: Junior Palmquest, treasurer Bctty Allyn, president. LIEUTENANTS BEAUTY and brains just don't mix, so we've heard. Hut right here and now we want to file complaint. We know what we're talking about because Betty Allyn, our pretty president, has led us throughout our school year and looking back we all have to admit she has done a good job. We gave our dance, our assembly and everything came oft' just as we planned it- good, good, good! Frances Springer, Junior Palmquest and Helen Rice have helped our little president quite a bit in her work. too. VVith all ot' them working together as they did we have had lots ot' fun. VVe can afford to brag, too. because the one and only student body president came from our own little group. You all know him by the name of .lon Hammond. When we put on our assembly, a group of girls called the Sugar Howl Eight, sang their own theme song and also some popular ones. The skit was a comedy and Shannah Olson, the leading lady, who is talented in acting comedy parts, gave out with so many corny sayings that tears ac- tually rolled down the cheeks ot' some students. The most musical people come from the junior class this year. The pop- ular vocalists, Frances Springer. Helen Rice and Mary I.ou Stiverson. have formed a trio all their own and they are really pretty sharp. Ernie Moiola and Mickey Melendy and Hob Zilkey are outstanding sports- men. Ernie for basketball and Mickey for pole vaulting, Both ot' them are anxious for next year when they can really show their stuff.

Coy Delma Cress Jimmy Dalbey Ruby Dabol Dave Douglas Rosemary Dudley Betty Erb Cheri Lee Fister Larain Forbush Mary Getto Margaret Gibbs Jon Hammond Joan Hanifan Betty Erb was chosen business manager of the Lahontan because she is such a good little chaser. Ad chaser, that is. Now if only there were at least one or two more people in this school as smart as our straight A student, Emi Kito, we just would be sitting pretty. Calista Kolstrup is Mr. Van Huevelan's pet and was chosen secretary of that big commercial club.
