They were making plans for their Sadie Hawkins dance as the 1945 Lahontan went to press. Although hampered by the lack of sugar for the cakes they want to serve and by the shortage of lumber for proposed Skunk Hollow cottages, the seniors assured us their hop would top even the Frosh party. Quiet, genial Charlie York has been session room teacher for the graduates. Although he's had some difficulty in selling stamps and bonds, he's always finally won 100 per cent cooperation from all the 1945 seniors. 194 Q05 . . Jean was awarded second place in the state contest. Chosen most likely to succeed and to represent the class of 1945 in the Pepsi-Cola scholarship contest are Tomio Ito, Bill Stuart and Bill Sanford. Melvin Springer, Bill Stuart, John Paul, Colleen Moore, Jean Rost and Carmen Erquiaga have applied for the freshmen scholarships awarded by the University of Nevada.
