FIRESIDE CIRCLE Climaxing their year's work, Fireside Circle girls enter- tained their mothers and eighth grade girls and their moth- ers at a spring festival and style show in April. Mothers ot' members were honored guests at an installation ceremony. The group made commando dolls for the A.W.V.S. The girls prepared a banquet for the F'.F.A. and mothers ot' the F.F.A. boys, and a banquet for the vocational heads. They sold pop at all home basket and football games, the proceeds from which helped buy war bonds for the group. They also bought and made drapes and luncheon cloths for the home ec rooms. Members ot' the group enjoyed several informal social events during the year. Pins were awarded to members of the club who earned two hundred points for work during the year. Fireside Circle girls include any who are taking or who have taken home economics. Miss Ruth Proctor is their advisor. ALPHA LAMBD Although we tried to be nonchalant, no one was more surprised than we when we turned over a check for S85 to the United War Relief fund, the money we earned on our dance. We're proud that we still have a bank balance and a bond. We'Ve had a wonderful time this year, with pleasant memories ot' meals and snacks we've enjoyed tantalizing us. We know that our mothers who have entertained us and prepared our parties are chiefly responsible for a happy year in Alpha Lambda. Our Christmas dance we think super. Officers this year are Audrey Young, presidentg Jean Rost, sergeant-at-armsg Dorothea Cress, a treasurer who makes us pay our dues, and Beverly Born, a secretary who doesn't miss a note. Members are Jean Rost, Colleen Moore, Rose Marie Schank, Elenor Candee, Emma Lu Winder, Tomio Ito, Leona Briggs, Carmen Erquiaga, Audrey Pearson, Pat Hamilton and Claudia Trussell.
