Amelio I-lell was elected state l .I .A. president: John Sorensen, state vice president. At the state meet, Virgil fletto tied with an Ifllko boy for third place among individual winners in livestock judging. and the Churchill chapter took fifth in the dairy judging contest. They tied with Pahranagat Valley for third in the swine judging contest. Virgil Getto won individual honors in beef' judging, and Bernard Ponte won first place for his chap- ter with his treasurer's notebook. The Fallon fcam won first place in the parliamentary eontest, State Farmer degrees went to John Sorensen. Virgil Getto. and Ernest Lattin. Setting the patriotic pace for the high scho il, the farmers were the first group to buy a defense bond. Members of the home ec. Ill class served a formal dinner for Mr. Shierson and his guidance committee, and in April they served a dinner for the school board and the faculty. All girls enrolled in home arts served the F.F.A. mother-and-son banquet. Fireside Circle girls put on a pep rally for the Stewart football game and spring assembly program dealing with home economics. ln May, mothers and friends were enter- tained at a special program and style show. Fireside Circle members worked hard selling pop and hot dogs at football and basketball games. Proceeds from these sales went to help improve the home ec. rooms. liiltlv, Sllllll Ito.
