Without Mr. Weede's efficient helpers, civ- ics assignments would never be completed, English themes would be forever incomplete. and, most serious of all, Romance would no longer bloom in Churchill county high school. We're pretty sure faculty members don't read the annual, so we're safe in explaining that librarians act as postoffice and mail car- rier for students parted in study hall for for- ty long minutes. When one can't get his al- gebra, he can usually signal for one of his more intelligent friends to meet him at the library. And while the students diligently labor over the problem. the trusty librarians pretend to be hunting books. The teacher sel- dom tumbles. When some hardy soul rolls a marble down the aisle. the librarian always looks the other way. She never sees anything she shouldn't. We don't know whether to thank Mr. Weede or his staff for the truly good new li- brary books we've found this year. All we can say is. Northwest Passage is as divert- ing as a funny book any day, and why can't we have more new books and have them 1 for . Weede hun hike no andrxggrv book' .QW YDS 3 lost I V -K., more often? We appreciate the current magazines Mr. Weede's librarians dish out to us. Some- times we get tired of waiting for our turn to read Readers Digest and Time and we think we might use student funds for a few more subscriptions. We don't hold the de- linquent list against the librarians-and we admit they do all they can to help us out of that serious problem. It gives us a good, safe feeling to find two brave males in this year's library lineup. In addition to being efficient librarians, Ted and Jack keep Mr. Weede from feeling too lost in library meetings. It seems before their advent the ladies at times overrode Mr. Weede's firm decisions as to how to check up on books. Chief assistant to Mr. Weede is Yoshiko Ito, whose good disposition never alters, no matter how many students yell for service after school. All in all, the librarians work hard. and don't even get a chance to pay. for a letter for their trouble. ..26-
