M.E.Ch.A. Chula Vista M.E.Ch.A.'s 1Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlanj goal has always been to encourage students to further their education. M.E.Ch.A. was born from concerned and dedicated students from across Aztlan to meet the demands of our growing community of Chicano, Latino and Mexicano students by promoting self-identity and self deter- mination. M.E.Ch.A. gives students an opportunity to participate in activities that promote pride and awareness, for example: The M.E- .Ch.A. Homecoming float, the S.D.S.U. M.E.Ch.A. High School Leader- ship Conferenceg X-mas Toy exchange from the members for the Chil- dren of Flores Magon in Tijuana, walking precincts for school board candidates. In addition, M.E.Ch.A. is also cultural, linking the C.V.H. School campus and the community in the Cinco de Mayo Celebration which is a culmination of our year's activities. M.E.Ch.A. is more than a name-itis a working active organization bring together our brothers and sisters in the spirit of unity and pride in our heritage.
