After an entertaining skit les fauers de France return for an encore Freshman Jeff Moench succeeds in his portrayal of the class dunce 'wilt :- ,Li Language Classes Entertain Diners: Enter Competition There were a lot of people there. lt was fun to put on and organize the show Hesophomore Jim Wheeler l really liked the French stuff H-sophomore Jennifer Ginsburg The food was excellent, so l really munched down! -freshman Jeff Moench The acting in the skits was pretty sad if you know what l mean. 'Huntor Shorty Atwood lt was just so inspirational l think l will become a movie starluqunior Gordon Kinder We did a terrthcjoblu-sophomore Chuck Conover The international Dinner took place on December 22. Entertainment for the dnner was provided by the foreign language classes This included corok sung in various languages and skits performed using a Christmas theme Diners were served food from dfferent countries, so as to get a taste of international cuisine, According to Mrs. Horence Pearson, teacher and sponsor, The kids put a lot of hard work and effort into the cwnner to make it successful. The baked food, rehearsed lines, and made the sets for the skits l'm proud of them. Another activity which the French, German, and Spanish students undertook was the Declamation, held March 22. All Anchorage area schook took part in the contest, which involved the speaking of poetry in a foreign language. Contestants were judged on their content, manner of speaking, and use of gestures get your soup in a minute, states the waiter.

Christmas Time At CHS Brings Feasts, Festivities l thinls people really got into the spirit of things, -sophomore Susan Dunn We had a blast at the senior feast! -senior Deals Kadel The door decorating should have been more organized. -freshman Jenni Johnson l thought the doors were really cute, -sophomore Melody I-Nlborn l thought all the Chnstmas time activities were nice. -sophomore Jaclfie Bennc Considering the seniors won the canned food dnve, it was great! -senior Jeanne Wetherington The teachers should have hebed more with the doors. -freshman Jennifer Osowslsi The Christmas time activities at CHS included a canned food drive, musical can- certs, a door decorating contest, and the Senior feast. The canned food drive ws held Dec. 8- 21, with the seniors coming in Hrst with 425 cans. On Dec. 1Z during their concert, the band and orchestra played traditional Christmas music. Junior High, Senior l-Hgh, and Swing Choirs held their annual concert on Dec. 18. The winners of the door decorating con- test were announced on Friday, Dec, 21. Mrs. Dianne Parnows seventh grade hstory class door came in ILTTST, Mrs. Mac Owens AP, Englsh class door was voted most or- iginal and Mr. Leonard Oalfleys Biology ll class door was most scientihc. The week was concluded with the seniors gorging themselves at their feast and choir members carohng throughout the halls. Renecting many peoples thoughts about the Hfty hostages held captive in the Iranian embassy during Christmas is Mrs. Dianne Parnows prize winning door. Honor Society sponsor Jim Taylor joins forces with chairman John Wana- malfer and co-chairman Curtis Plunlf to malfe the canned food drive successful, -'f ffl F Cl 6? hp ' 'iff The combined mens choir performs in concert. 1 Quartet Rodney Jackson, Edde Fagan, Joe Hen- i ning, and Tom Mison sing Nurtin' for Christmas.
