Hiunior Ed Lochrie The girk' team was good but ddnr have enough members to go anywhere. - freshman Lisa Wold 'Swimming was a lot of fun and l think its a great sport to get into, -freshman Ginger Long The boys' swim team went undefeated in their dual meet season-a Hrst for CHS, The girk were less fortunate, ending their season with a 1 win, 8 loss record. The Alaska Swimming Coaches Association elected Dick Green as Coach of the Year. Buildng the swim team from scratch when he came to Chugiak Eve years ago, one of Coach Greens goak was to develop a program that wouldnt suffer if one person left. This goal will be put to the test next year, as he left CH5 second semester to coach swim teams in Hawaii, More CHS swimmers qualified for Regional hnak than ever before. ln the state meet Chugiak placed in Nve events- Joe Lochner, Hfth in 200 IM, Ray Marquiss, sixth in Q00 free, Mark Collns, fifth in one meter di- ving, Joe Lochner, John Lindquist, Ray Marquiss, and Kevin Reed fourth in 400 free relay, Danny Legg, 5tate Diving Cham- pion. 5pecial awards were presented at the banquet held December 12. Chosen as the Most inspirational swimmers were Lindquist and Amy Cronk. Crank and Kevin Reed were the Most improved with Cronk and Lindquist as the Most Outstandng.
