Making the splits loolf simple is gymnasr Kimberly Brooks Mustang Gymnasts Offer Competition In Building Season This year was all right, but next year is going to be a really strong one for Chugtals. junior Barb Mkon This season was a new experience for me! -freshman Marcia Fay They improved this year,- the heb from the coaches really showed in the end! -senior John Wrede Everybody really improved a lot this year. -sophomore Julie Hetcher lt was a lot of fun, but the team needed more people. -Manager Susan Brooks The girb really came through, they were puling eightfs at the state meet! - Caoch Lesle Albrich Accorcfng to Coaches Martha Graybeal and Leslie Albrich, the Mustang gymnastics team really started to come through this year, This season, one of their best in a few years, consistently saw them beating out-of-town schoob and coming very close to the Anchorage teams, Coaches Albrich and Graybeal with the adcftional heb of spotter John Wrede, worlsed the relatively small team to the point of no return. The hard worls seemed to have paid off as junior Denise Edwards placed fourth in the intermediate All- Around competition at the State Meet. At the end-of-season gymnastic banauet, senior Lori Lochrie received the Most lne spirarionol and the Most Dedicated awards. Junior Denise Edwards received the Most Valuable award and freshman Marcia Fay was named Most improved, Co-Captains for the '79 gymnastics team were senior Lori Lochrie and junior Barb Mkon, Endng her rounne with an air of victory is Barb Mkon.
