Harrier Optimism Cites Best Season For Cross Country The competition was stiffer than in previous years. -senior Tom Lane lt was one of our best seasons! - senior Sharan Lee I feel it was worth my time. -un ior Kistal Baker We needed more school support! - junior Jody -Brion This was my best season yet, next year l plan to make it my greatest season ever! -junior Don I-loman I hked ths season because l let- tered this year! -unior lim Martin lt was Une until Regionak! -un ior Meg Penisten Yes, well ah, ah, maybe. - sophomore David Beckley l'd rather not think about it! - sophomore Loren Sickles 'Same thltig that Loren thinks! - sophomore Glen Smith lt was a good season for me. - freshman Jenny Martin The Mustang Cross Country Running team improved their times thk year by consistantly breaking many of the school records, The team members and the three coaches, Mr. Andy Kirk, Mrs. Renee Henry, and Mr. Danny Crow all worked toward the teams success, The Boys' Varsity team had a 10-5 win-loss record thk yeah while the Girk' Varsity had a 3-11 record Coach Henrys reason for their poor rec- ord was due to iryuties and lack of depth throughout the season, The gitk defeat- ed Service at the regional meet, endng the season on a positive note. Coaches Kirk and Henry cited Meg Pen- isten and Tom Lane as the most inspira- tional team members, the most spirited member was Kistal Baker. The most im- proved runner was Don Homan. Tom I-Hckey was named this years biggest surprise. viii. Chugiaks Champ, Mea Penisten, braves the mud for a win.
