Working Together Student Court's main goal was to make the students more aware of stu- dent court and it's responsibilities. They approved fund raisers and activities for the school calendar and handled elec- tions, assemblies and student appeals. Members of student court attended leadership workshops such as the statewide conference held in Yuma and Tempe. Student court was led by seniors Christine Schipansky - Chief Jus- tice and Lynnette Brubaker - Assis- tant Chief Justice. Joyce Aller and Maria Mercado - Court recorders, Eddy Garcia - Secretary. Other jus- tices were seniors Barbara Garmen, Ronnie Brubaker, Tiffany Cahill and Juniors Gloria Durazo and Jen- nifer Cook. - By Vicky Pillarelli. Teamwork and creativity best de- scribed this yearis Student Govern- ment. This enthusiastic group kicked off activities with a successful freshmen ori- entation followed by the yearly excite- ment of homecoming festivities, game, dance and crowning of royalty. Student Government met every- day during fifth period in a class of 21 elected members, which was sponsored by Miss Jenny Brichta. The class was run by Student Body President Veroni- ca Fields and Student Body Vice Presi- dent Becky Leonard. A variety of to- pics were discussed in the class, such as the litter problem in the lunchroom area, the preparation of spirit weeks, lunch time activities, and movies under the stars. Student Government participated in a Leadership Conference sponsored by Josten's. A Prevention Week on drugs and alcohol was also sponsored by Student Government.
