Everyone Gets Their Dollars Worth Here Mrs. Elodia Doe, cafeteria man- ager, has worked in the cafeteria for 14 years. Her responsibilities included menu planning, food buying and preparation, purchasing of all mer- chandise, organizing and managing personnel. The hardest part of her job was to keep the cost of food and labor at a minimum. Meeting New People Mr. Bladimir Soza, the Home- Visitor, wanted to work more closely with the students and be like a father to them. Mr. Soza stated, I hope the students come to me not only as a home visitor, but as a friend to them. Also I like to be out in the field, meet with parents of students. Working with them as much as I can. The main purpose of his job was to check students' school behavior between Pueblo, Tucson and Cholla High School. He also called parents con- cerning their son or daughters' ab- sences. When asked how he felt about the new attendance tardy policy he stated, They are better than where I was Working. Mr. Soza was born in Bisbee Arizona. He has lived in Tuc- son for 52 years and attended the schools in Tucson. He spends his free time playing pool, swimming, softball and basketball. - By Grace Granillo Mrs. Phyllis Pesqueira, school nurse, has always been there to help when needed for over 5 years. She stated, I enjoy working with the ado- lescent group of children - they have special needs and they are special peo- ple. Her hours are from 7:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The types of emergencies she sees daily are lacerations, foreign objects in eyes and fractures. Mrs. Pesqueira has 17 years of experience as a nurse. She has worked in Pima County Hospital on the medical floor, ICU, medical surgery and the emer- gency room, University Hospital in the area of labor and deliveryg Kino Community Hospital in the area of Education Coordinator. Mrs. Pes- queira spends her free time playing golf and raising children. She has a piece of advice for everyone. Enjoy your youth, stay off drugs and stay healthy. Head librarian Len Bryan, Co-librarian Mrs. Pau- line Opton, and new library clerk, Mrs. Cheryll Baker, made them- selves available to the students and staff members. Mr. Bryan said, If we seein like strangers in the library, itis only because you haven't come to visit us. They also assisted with a wide variety of library materials such as magazines, audiovisual equipment, and the card catalog. Mr. Bryan has Worked for 16 years at Cholla and at- tends after school activities. In his free time he enjoys golf, tennis, ping pong and reading. Mrs. Upton has been here for 2 years. She enjoys square dancing, sewing and attending after school activities also. Mrs. Baker has worked at Cholla for l year and enjoys bowling, creative crafts and fishing.
