The Arts The dedicated teachers in K Pod and the Fine Arts Department believed that the arts were basic to a complete educa- tion. They offered students excellent op- portunities to enrich their lives and de- velop vocational and professional skills. Self confidence, pride, cultural heritage, listening skills, and non-verbal percep- tion were stressed in addition to trans- lating ideas onto paper. In a November school board meeting parents requested that the arts be a part of the basics being taught and not a frill. Most of the parents felt that students should be exposed to all the arts throughout their educational program, and that it should not be the first to go when budgets were cut. Cholla enrolled over 5271 of its student population in various Fine Arts Programs this year. By Leslie Crum ', ,V 2 gg , Top Right: Picture by the art class of '76 dis- played in the pod.
