Principal Keith Meenan stated, We have a lot of positive things going for us. There is a move toward positive public support of the American school system and improvement in instruction ac- cording to results of the Gallop poll and inservice work. Mr. Meenen noted, As I visit classes I see the majority of students on time, and with a business- like attitude . . . the positive changes in school cli- mate are,evident. New Directions counselor Barbara Ghana was available Wednesday mornings for individual ses- sions with female students needing counseling, ad- vocacy, and referral services on life issues. The Boys Club sponsored a motivation Work- shop on February 13th on techniques for finding jobs. The workshops were held at the Boys Club Ranch at 1411 North El Rio Drive. The new attendance computer program known as KERMIT affected everyone in very important ways. Student notes for absences were due upon returning to school, and special runners picked up scan sheets for the office the last 20 minutes of the period 2, while teachers hand delivered period 3-6 scan sheets by 2:30 pm.
