Valdez, Veronica Fuentes, Kevin Sudden Impact was the theme for the 1984-85 Yearbook. Advisor Ms. Catherine Cely has taught at Cholla for 8 years. Apart from being Impact Advisor she also taught Art and Photography. Her main goals for the yearbook staff were to meet all deadlines, produce a better yearbook each year, and to teach students good public relations techniques. It was the responsibility of the staff to interview people, take photographs, write sto- ries, draw layout designs for copy and picture placement and to organize un- derclass picture sessions and year- book sales. The editorial staff consisted of 4 Co-Editors who were, Senior Kim Keeton - Copy Editor, Junior Lucy Varela H Caption Editor, Junior Da- vid Taylor H Layout Editor, and Ju- First Hour QL RJ Jesus Patricia Cowan trin and T nior Kelly Woodrich - Cropping Edi- tor. The 3 Photo Editors were Senior Michael Holte, Senior Dominic Ortiz and Junior Jeff Dollar. Herff Jones Yearbooks Representative was Yvonne Lopez. Types and sizes used were the following: Headlines - Century Schoolbook Bold 36 point. Division Pages A Century Schoolbook and Bold and Bingham Script 42 point. Subheads - Century Schoolbook Italic 18 point. Body Copy and Folios - Century Schoolbook, 10 point. Captions - Century Schoolbook, 8 point. 112 I-Iold The Presses Mr. Paul Felix, advisor for the Charger Staff for the past eight years, changed the format and cover design this year. The Charger Newspaper now sports a magazine cover and a newspaper front page as well as being larger. Journalism has moved to fifth hour and the advanced class meets sixth. Exposure to the typewriters on a daily basis gave students more pro- fessional experience. Junior Glenn Parks - Editor-in- Chief, had the responsibilities of meeting all deadlines, editing copy, and making assignments. The Charg- er goal was to publish ten issues with an eight page average every three weeks. It cost S60 per page. Mr. Felixls interests other than journalism Were reporting and graph- ic design.
