' vawa - During the twenty-two years that Mr. Louis Regis has directed instrumental music at Chisholm, he has established a fine reputation an an able director of the band, orchestra and string ensemble. The spirited music of the band created a stirring atmos- phere at football and basketball games. The orchestra was an integral part of every convocation and climaxed the years' activities with a beautiful spring recital of concert music. The string ensemble provided soft, mellow background music for banquets, programs and social gatherings throughout the community. Even during the absence of lllr. Regis these activities carried on under their student directors, Mae Ruth Pietila and Donald Niemi. o 41
