At the Corona playday, Chino placed as the top of the Tri-county League schools with three Wins and one tie. Chino seniors tied with the Corona team, lO to lO. Seniors were the Winners in interclass playoffs. The juniors, sophomores, and freshmen placed second, third, and fourth, re- spectively. Geraldine Wagner was captain of the seniors, Vera Snyder led the juniors, Arlene Boyer captained the sophomores, and Margie Wright and Helen Ryckman were the frosh captains. DeeDee l-lausman acted as speedball manager.

The girls who looked better than average and who would probably come out on top Were LuAnn Capper, Max- ine Poh, Helen lest, and Wanda Starling, heading the singles 5 and Erma Cornu and Lillian Loos listed as the most probable for first doubles. This is the first year that regular badminton matches have been scheduled with tennis matches at League schools. Games were scheduled with Puente, Claremont, Bonita, Corona, and Citrus. Wanda Starling served as this year's badminton manager. At the time the annual Went to press, the G.A.A. tennis team had not been chosen. Outstanding singles players were Betty Harris, DeeDee Hausman, Marilynne Shanks, Arlene Boyer, and Elsie Weber. ln the doubles playing position, competition was keen be- tween Barbara Ryitel, Geraldine Wagner: and Vera Snyder, Annie Morales. Sophomores Won second honors and the frosh team took third. Barbara Byffel was the basketball manager. At the annual playday held at Citrus Union High School on November 5, Chino girls Won three games and lost one game by a single point.
