CCWPUNCHERS IUNIOR OFFICERS Neil Iohnston - Vit-e'President Donald Young - President Kcrleen Streitenberqer - Secretary We have passed a milestone in every high schooler's life H the junior year Q- ---- when we are no longer the freshies and soph- ies of yesteryear, but are commanded by only a handful of seniors, whose position and power will soon be ours. We chose as our officers for the year: president, Don Young: vice-president, Neil lohnstonp and secretary, Karleen Streiten- berger. Our dramatic ability was put on display in the presentation of Two Minutes To Go. Actors and actresses from our midst proved themselves in many other plays directed by Miss Warren. lncluded were Russ Poole, Frances McCartney, Wayne Shupe, Anne Bernhard, Harry Hand, Gene Minney, Dave Medert, Martha Camp, Molly Hereford, Doro- thy lokes, Miriam Larrick, jean McAfee, Polly Rohrer, Betty Turner, Wesley Sickles, jim O'Connor, Byron Sigler, Red Bixby, Charles Hitchcock, loanne Griesheimer, and Delores Caldwell. Music was one of the main interests of our junior class. ln the Boys' Glee Club were james Wilhelm, Don Kegg, lon Gant, joe Grimes, Dick Klepinger, Gene Minney, james O'Connor, and Wayne Shupe. The Girls' Glee Club, had Betty Bumgarner, Eileen Palmer, Martha Camp, Katherine Gilsdorf, Doralyn Hockenberry, Helen Hollis, Mary Sue Rowe, Reva Libby, Barbara Minser, Betty Newman, Audrey Shumaker, lean McAfee, Nettie Stead, Karleen Streitenberger, luanita Vtfhite, Elizabeth Yaple, Alice Crites, loan Houck, Beverly Knapp, and ClCFra Nolan, Maxine Angus, Esther Hodge, Pauline jenkins, Gail Park, Betty lean Turner, and Mary Ellen Tuttle were our representatives in the girls' chorus. Harmonizing side by side with these other organizations were sixteen members of this class in the band and orchestra. Two of the three majorettes came from our group, 7' Cherie Donnells, and Helen Hollis. Members of the band and orchestra were Martha Camp, Merrill junk, Byron Sigler, Don Kegg, jack Eley, Dessie Leach, Mary Ellen Tuttle, Gene Minney, Ion Gant, james O'Connor, Russ Poole, Dave Dickey, Martha McQuigg, Maymie Opperman, Betty Schreck, and Betty Bentley. Highlights of life at C. H. S. just wouldn't be complete without bringing sports into the picture. ln there slugging all the way for the Blue and White were Red Bixby, Dick Clark, Robert Corrigan, Kenny Dennewitz, Ion Gant, Leroy Hawk, joe Hess, Dick Klep- inger, Charles Meyer, Max Michels, Charles Morris, Willard Park, Russ Poole, Wayne Shupe, Paul Uhrig, Clarence Valentine, and Charles Von Kennel representing football. Our lighter dressed boys, the basketeers, were Don Young, Dick McCloskey, Don Mar- tin. Charles Morris, jim Steele, Wayne Shupe, Neil lohnston, Dave Dunkle, and lack Eley. The thin clads on the track team were Dick McCloskey, Kenny Dennewitz, Bill Hess, loe Hess, lon Gant, Charles Morris, Carl Alexander, Charles Lee, Dave Medert, Russ Poole, Red Bixby, Dick Clark, Leroy Hawk, Charles Meyers, Max Michels, Wile lard Park, and Neil Hertenstein. The junior group was well represented in the combined junior-Senior Tri-Hi-YQ Dorothy lakes was vicepresident, and Betty Bume garner was treasurer. Then at the half of the year when each group elected separate officers, we chose as president, Karleen Streitenbergerg vice-president lrene Cottrillp secretary, Miriam Larricky and treasurer Bet- ty Bumgarner. The junior Hi-Y had its group too. They elected as president, Orris Gil- more: vice-president, Henry Elliott: treasurer, Carl Alexander: and secretary Dick William- son. What we have gained throughout this year we file away in our memory book and now look anxiously to our senior year. Page Sixteen
