Thls hlgh school School and Jean Harms Mary Beth Lynn Terry McCurley and Nell1e Rttch had Jomed our ranks we were pretty well settled Then comes our Sophomore year Bob Foust Ed Gober Ronme Hucson Juanlta Parnell and Dolly Sexton were added to our roll and bel1eve you me thls year we really had problems Iguess we must have been restxng up for these last two years because we are really havlng our share nowll Begmnlng w1th our Jumor year we worked! You may remember our prom we gave for the 57 Sentors well never forget our Southern Plantatlon the mmuet frted chlcken cold apple c1der and all Iwoe wonder II was such a success after all the work we d1d to flnance ll selllng magazmes and flavormg h3V1Ilg bake sales and even p1ck1ng cotton! We sponsored the school paper The Trger s Roar and 1f I may brag a bit ll was the BEST And W1lly 1f you thlnk YOU RE tough you should have seen our undefeated football team that year were we proud of theml' By the tlme James Glass and Don Peterson entered our class we were feel1ng pretty proud of ourselves Then ln 1957 we reached the goal of all our school days We became d1gn1f1ed Senlors When we recustered ln September we were greeted by a new face Mr Layton young enthuslasttc and efflclent was our new prmclpal He succeeded our own Mr Watwood who even before your mme W1lly had graduated senlors and had helped make school hlstory After twenty three years of devoted servxce he assumed the pr1nc1palsh1p of the ,Tumor H1gh School And so began our semor year and then thlngs began to hum but you know the rest W1lly Bobby Bowl1ng Fred Ramsey Joe Sauer and Larry Sumners became members of our class and we begun our never to be forgotten Senlor year We selected our class rmgs and 1nv1tat1ons and declded to go to Wash1ngton D C for our last fllng We have a lot to do before we leave dear old C H S and w1th you 1n the m1dst of us glV1l'lg pep talks W1lly we ll make lt Llke you we love our Alma Mater and we hate to leave Through the years though we ll be back from tlme to ttme so don t forget the Class of 58 ol man and watch over our school when we re gone Okay-vfwvv 22 . . . ,. . . v 9 I J I I I I u A ' I I I I I I I U I g , n n n ' I . . , .
