M T . . :J 'i' B MASS HISIURY The history of this class began in September 1937, when each mem ber arrived at achool to begin his school life, llttle realizing the long and difficult climb ahead Except for the first few days of learnlng how to get along without mother and learning how to live with others, the six ye rs were blissful, happy and care free The entering of high school was probably as breathtaking as were the fir t days of school Uere our big lesson was learning that we were responsible to several teachers instead of one and that each of us must assdme his own responsibility Several of the original members have dropped by the wayside while because of new industries in Childersburg, others have Joined our forces Our class was fortunate enough to be here the year Childersburg secured a coach, Coach Cox The next fall Mrs Henry Moody came to us as band instructor Since then the school has really scored in sports with the aid of Coach Coy, Mr Vatwood, Mrs Vatwood and Mrs Moody Nine members of our class are letter men in football, eight have been here throughout the football history Our activities these last three years have been many The Beta Club, Service Club, Wand, Clee Club, Red Cross, Commercial Club ! F H A Club,Four H Clubs, hav made our activities many and varied In our class other than the nine letter men we have four cheer leaders, two majorettes, one drum mayor and a good citizenship girl Miss Homecoming and ten eta members Ne are proud to be able to claim these many achiexements As are the flnge s of all Seniors, ours were held high after re ceiving the class rlngs Je are still anticipating and looking forward to the Senior Play, Junior Senior Banquet, lnvltations, Senior Prom, Senio lrip and our graduating exercise The success of the fearbook, edited by the Seniors, is a typical example of how a class united can work together with As we go out into the world to begin our careers, we our undying gratitude and thanks to the faculty, our and our under classmen for the part they carried out us as better citizens o tomorrow the sponsors want to leave principal, in molding Members of the Senior Class 12 . .
