Fumbles were a big factor in the final tally, with the Chief Logan eleven coming out on top. September I9 Chief Logan 33 Montoursville 6 Competing in their second contest, the Steelers romped off withasecond run away in its openers when it trampled Montoursville 33 to 6. October I Chief Logan I9 Danville I3 Facing its first tough test of the season, the Chief Logan Steelers came through with a I9 to I3 verdict over Danville. October I0 Chief Logan 39 Lewistown I3 While playing host to Lewistown, the Steelers overcamea first-half deficit of I3 to 7 by walloping the Panthers in a final score of 39 to I3. The Steelers dominated the field throughout the third and fourth periods, after being held to minus five yards net in the second period. October I6 Chief Logan I3 State College 20 The Steelers suffered their first loss in five starts to the Little Lions of State College. The Steelers suc- cumbed to their own misfortunes of a fumble and a blocked kick as the hosts' team took advantage of this for a score of 20 to I3. October 23 Chief Logan I3 Bellefonte 7 Defensive play was highlighted as Chief Logan trampled over Bellefonte I3 to 7. Each team punted six times with the Steelers leading in first downs nine to six. October 23 Chief Logan 47 Huntingdon 0 Winding up their I953 season the Steelers downed the Bearcats of Huntingdon with a 47 to 0 victory.
