udic jedfiua DISTRICT CHORUS Harriet Valentine, David Garrett, Shirley Smith, GaryMowery, and Shir- ley Krick represented Bumham High at Huntingdon on January 14, 15, and 16. From this group, Gary Mowery was chosen for the third year to attend State Chorus on February 4, 5, and 6, at Meadville. Derry's representatives at District Chorus were as follows: SEATED: A- nita Schrecengastand Elaine Bingmang STANDING: Mollie Gutshall, Richard Moffet, Kay Crawford, Ronald Bailey, Carolee Stralo, and Ken Henry. From this group Richard Moffet was chosen for State Chorus, but due to illness he was unable to attend. Ken Henry represented Derry as his replacement. DISTRICT BAND Chief Logan High School was re- presented at District Band in Mifflin- burg on February I8, 19, and 20, by the followingdelegategg Kenneth Fra- zier, Gary Simpklns, Robert Smith, Kay Goss, Norma Freed, Lee Rhodes, Barbara Benner, and Nancy Baker.

Varied reactions The Adorable Spendthrift, was well re- ceived by Burnham audiences on November l8, l9, and 20. The play, a comedy in three acts by Roy Briant, was presented by the Sen- ior Class of Burnham High School under the supervision of Mrs. Margaret Rhodes. The plot revolved around a French Count- ess who came to a small American town to marry Hardy Mason, a recent recipient ofa Sl50,000 inheritance.
