VC hether at a foot- ball game or a Spring Concert, the audience always enjoys the performances of the music department. The splish splash of brushes echoes daily from the Art Department under the firm guidance of Mrs. Elizabeth Ellis and Mrs. Ella Lungren. Students in this department, encouraged to be free and creative, receive diversified training in all phases of art. Periodically, contests enable them to exercise their skills, and at the same time, to advance their knowledge of the subject. With such a fine back- ground in art, new avenues in this field are sure to be opened to the conscientious students upon commencement. Physical Department EARL E. BLAZYNSKY JOANNE DALY LEONA M. SEALEY RUTH W. MARTINEZ 30 'Block that shot!” What’s the score?’’ These are shouts which may be heard coming from the gymnasium dur- ing the physical education classes. Games and fun are not, however, the only activi- ties associated with this department. As the name implies, physical edu- cation is its main objective. This program consists of calisthenics, sports, and ap- paratus workouts. As a result of this ex- tensive program, the department has done much to bring about the healthy growth and physical development of the student body. How many baskets are you planning to make today, Rosie?” inquires Mrs. Daly, while D. Cummings and M. Crooks wait for the game to begin.
