Directed by Mrs. Hannah F. Cassell, this department carries out its program through class discussions supple- mented by films and individual reports. In this way, the pupils regard the subject realistically—as a record of people and their actions. HAROLD HARTMAN Language Department Walking through the corridors of Chester High School, a blend of various tongues can be heard conversing in Latin, French, German, or Spanish. Under the capable leadership of Mr. Harold Hartman, the students are not only taught to read, write, and speak a language, but they are also initiated into the customs and history of the country where the language evolved. This enables a student to converse knowingly in languages of his choice. t department head, B. Moore, E. Bendhert, D. Washing- FRED G. ADDIS ton, C. Joynes, and W. Jen- nings look on attentively.
